This Stargirl was a lot more subdued and mellow than the first one, and also cared way more about the opinions of others. I’m not sure what it was about it, but I actually didn’t mind reading it! I will say, however, that the Stargirl in this book was a lot different from the Stargirl I knew in the first book. I was prepared to read it and write a scathing review of it as I have every Spinelli book (including the first book, Stargirl), but I just couldn’t! I really liked this book, so much more than any other book written by him. Review: I really, really wanted to hate this book. With the help of each of these people, she works to plan a Winter Solstice celebration for the entire community, as well as overcomes many difficult challenges along the way. A little girl obsessed with her and her mouse, a rebellious teenage girl, a mysterious boy, and an agoraphobic who hasn’t left her house in decades. Throughout her first year here, she meets a bunch of different people. Summary: Stargirl is beginning her new life in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, but she’s still reeling from the loss of her boyfriend, Leo.
